Principal's Message [11]

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!                          

 

This year marks the beginning of our New Tech Network journey. As a part of this district-wide initiative all students will actively participate in Project Based Learning experiences. All teachers are planning exciting learning opportunities that incorporate technology, collaboration and student ownership of their learning. Our primary responsibility is providing a safe and academically rich school experience for every student, every day. We are committed to building a strong school culture where students are taught to care for one another, to celebrate their differences and to give their best effort even when the task may seem challenging. All members of our school community model and reinforce these concepts not only with students, but with every person who enters our schoolhouse.

 

As a school community, we will continue to enforce our "Bucket-Filler" program because we know that students learn best in a safe and orderly environment.  All students are taught to be "Bucket-fillers" as a way to care for themselves, their classmates, and their school community. In addition to the academic program, students will be given opportunities to serve the local community through service learning projects.  In response to the support we receive from our communities, we expect our students to support the work of the community in which they live.

 

At Winton Woods Primary South, parents are our partners.  As you continue to support your child's learning, we encourage you to stay involved and ask questions of your child and of their teachers. Consider joining our Parent Teacher Organization.  We are always looking for classroom helpers, community partners, and volunteers.
