Welcome to Winton Woods Primary South!
Dear Primary South Families,
WOW! We had a great start to the school year! I wanted to send home a letter to make you aware of a few reminders:
SAFETY: Your child’s safety is critical to us, and we carefully monitor arrival as to keep all of our children safe. Please say goodbye to you child at the front door or lobby area. No parents/visitors should be in the hallways or visiting classrooms unless a prior appointment is set up with the teacher. This is to ensure that your child will be safe and that classroom instruction will not be interrupted. If you need to go to the office, please park your car in the east lot (near the dumpsters) and enter in the front doors of the building. As per District Policy, all visitors must sign in at the front office and wear a visitor’s badge.
It is crucial that every child arrives to school on time. School begins at 9:10 a.m. and we begin instruction at 9:20 a.m. Please do not drop off your child in the front area of the school. This space is reserved for buses ONLY during the hours of 8:45-9:30 a.m. and after 3:30 p.m. If your child is late to school, then you must park in the east lot and walk them to the office and sign them in.
Breakfast (FREE for all students): All students who wish to eat breakfast will begin being served on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Students will be allowed to come into the building and go through the breakfast line beginning at 8:50 a.m.
Lunch: The first 10 minutes of your child’s lunch will be silent. This will allow them the opportunity to eat their food before they quietly talk with their classmates. There will be a detention table in the lunch room for students who cannot follow lunch rules. If your child is asked to go to this table, they may be excluded from recess on that day.
If you need to bring your child a lunch, it must be dropped off in the office and we will deliver it to the classroom. If you are eating lunch with your child, you must sign in at the office and get a visitor’s badge.
Dismissal: All students (except car riders and daycare) will be escorted to the gym and their assigned areas to be dismissed. After all classes are assembled, students will be escorted outside to each bus. Students who are car riders will wait in a supervised area (room 23).
Parents/Guardians who are picking up their children are asked to park in the west lot (near playground off of Corbett Rd.) and enter through the back doors to room 23 then sign their child out. Daycare riders will be dismissed from a supervised area (room 26).

All children need to be picked up by 4:10 p.m.
***Please remember that if you need to change your child’s mode of transportation, please send a note to school with your child that morning. It is extremely busy in the office at the end of the day. A note in the morning will ensure us time to get all requests and messages to each teacher so your child will get home safely.
We ask for your support and patience with our procedures. As always, our goal is for Primary South to be a safe learning environment where all students are inspired to dream and challenged to achieve.
