Dear Primary South Families,

On behalf of the Winton Woods Primary South community, it is truly a joy and an honor to welcome you to the 2013-2014 school year! As we begin our adventure into this new school year, I would like to update you regarding recent happenings and changes.

Ms. Courtney Hickey: Kindergarten Teacher, Room 8
Ms. Ashley Whyte: Kindergarten Teacher, Room 10
Ms. Alena Smith: First Grade Teacher, Room 17
Ms. Alexandra Haggerty: First Grade Teacher (Long-term Substitute for Mona Berkemeyer), Room 11
Ms. Kelly Stiens: Intervention Specialist (replacing Anita Saylor), Room 9
Vision and Goals:
As I begin my fourth year as principal, I will continue to work diligently with our children, community, staff, and families to provide exceptional experiences for all children. Our children deserve the very best education! As we begin the year, I would like to communicate our school’s Vision Statement and Goals.
Primary South’s Vision Statement:
WINTON WOODS PRIMARY SOUTH IS COMMITTED TO PRODUCING LIFE-LONG LEARNERS THROUGH HIGH STANDARDS IN A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT.
Primary South School Goals:
1. To improve the academic achievement of each student.
2. To develop a “community of learners” where each student is valued, supported and encouraged to become the best person and student he/she can be.
3. To encourage each student to make our school and his/her world a better place.
In closing, please enjoy the remaining days of summer. I look forward to welcoming our children back to school. Please keep in mind these important dates:

August 21-23: Phase-in for Kindergarten Students:
August 21 – Last names beginning with A-G ONLY
August 22 – Last names beginning with H-O ONLY
August 23 – Last names beginning with P-Z ONLY

Monday, August 26: First Full Day for all Kindergarten Students

Thursday, September 5: Open House/Meet-the-Teacher Night (6:30-8 PM)
