Community Conversation #3

Stories that spark connection.
Action that builds community.

From Forest Park to Greenhills to Springfield Township, we share more than borders, we share a community.

Our first two Community Conversations sparked something powerful. People came together around a shared vision of a community where:

  • Everyone feels connected & welcomed
  • Neighbors smile & know each other’s children
  • We take care of each other

Now it’s time to TURN STORIES INTO CONNECTION + ACTION.

At Community Conversation #3, we’ll share stories of resilience and belonging as we move into planning simple and practical ways to bring people together. This is a chance to share your ideas, connect with others who care about making this community more welcoming, safe, and connected, and help shape the community connection events that come next.

Winton Woods City Schools Welcomes New Executive Director of Human Resources

CINCINNATI (Apr. 27, 2026) — At tonight's meeting, the Winton Woods City School District Board of Education hired Ms. LaToya Harper as the district's new Executive Director of Human Resources.

Harper brings more than two decades of experience in human resources, labor relations and compliance to Winton Woods. Most recently, she served as an HR and compliance consultant with Harper & Associates HR Consulting in Beavercreek, Ohio, supporting organizations in manufacturing, education and healthcare.

Her background in public education HR is extensive. She previously served in dual HR leadership roles at Dayton Public Schools, managing collective bargaining agreements, leading employee investigations, and advising district leadership on performance management. Before that, she spent more than 12 years with the Ohio Education Association, supporting labor negotiations across dozens of Ohio school districts. She also served as section chief and labor relations administrator for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

"I am so grateful for the opportunity to join the Winton Woods family," Harper said. "This community has a clear commitment to its students, staff and families, and I look forward to building the collaborative relationships that help every person in our schools thrive."

Superintendent Steve Denny welcomed the newest member of the district's executive team.

"We are thrilled to welcome LaToya to Winton Woods," Denny said. "Her depth of experience in labor relations and human resources in public education is exactly what our district needs. She is going to be a tremendous asset, and we are proud to have her leading our HR team."

2026 South Campus Showcase of Excellence
Jeffrey Riel

This Thursday night, (April 9th) from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, the Winton Woods South Campus (147 Farragut Road) will open its doors for the South Campus Showcase of Excellence, an evening dedicated entirely to celebrating what our Warrior learners in grades PreK-6 are discovering, creating, and becoming.

Our students see the world differently. They ask big questions. They make unexpected connections. They attack problems with an energy and imagination that can stop you in your tracks. The Showcase is your chance to experience that energy up close, as students walk you through the projects they've been working on, explain their thinking in their own words, and share work they are genuinely proud of.

The evening will also feature:

  • Student presentations and displays that highlight learning, creativity, and growth
  • Live music performances from our student musicians
  • Student artwork on display throughout the building
  • A chance to connect with teachers and staff who bring this learning to life every day

Whether your child is in preschool or 6th grade, this is a moment to see them shine outside the routine of the school day. And if you know an interested community member without a student enrolled, they're welcome too. Nights like this are a reminder of what's possible when we invest in our next generation.

Bring a neighbor. Bring the whole family. Come curious. Leave inspired.

We'll see you Thursday night!
